Enjoy the great outdoors with a guided hike at the Morning View Heritage Area. From wildflowers to trees and mussels to wetlands, explore the natural surroundings of this property.

 Information booths staffed by local outdoor and nature-oriented organizations make the event fun for both kids and adults!

KCCD hosts the Morning View Heritage Area (MVHA) as a venue on the tour. Information about future projects that promote conservation, passive recreation, and restoration of this historic and diverse land are discussed and distributed to guests.  Some guests also enjoy the hiking trails across the ridges and around the wetland areas.

 KCCD participates in the annual Reforest NKY event. Reforest NKY is organized to restore native Kentucky woodlands. The event has local organizations hosting booths and volunteers planting thousands of tree seedlings!

KCCD partners with many local organizations on conservation efforts!  Local organizations include: Banklick Watershed Council, Kenton Conservancy, Kenton County Parks and Recreation, NKY Chapter Sierra Club, Licking River Watershed Watch, City of Independence, NKY Urban & Community Forestry Council, and Kenton County Extension Service.

KCCD partners with many local youth organizations such as; Ohio River Foundation Youth Conservation Team, FFA, 4H, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.  Let us help your organization, contact KCCD for additional information!

KCCD hosts a booth at the Kenton County Fair.  Booth visitors receive information on the MVHA, program brochures, and promotional giveaways. Make sure to stop by and see us!

  KCCD welcomes guests with cookies and goodies at the District’s office. KCCD displays and distributes educational information promoting conserving our natural resources. This event attracts thousands of visitors, an excellent opportunity to promote conservation!

  Local organizations and guests come together to share seeds, stories and gardening tips! KCCD District Manager Zach Traylor hosts a table promoting the importance of pollinators and soil health.

 Members of the KCCD Board participate in the South Kenton Community Day. Family and kid-friendly community event. Tractors/antiques including a tractor show, alpacas/farm animals to meet, crafts/vendors, food, music, and activities for the kids!
